The C'T'O can act as: 

⚡ The Crisis Manager -  respond to a crisis or major setback with the aim to stabilize the business, the financials, the discipline and execute on the updated strategy

💽 The Upgrader - upgrade the business and operating model with the aim to create a sustainable change with a long-term growth perspective

💡 The Innovator - shifting the business model strategically, implement new digital capabilities or entering an entirely new product category or market

The lines between these roles are not fixed and may overlap.
